This Is Audio (Music Production)
This Is Audio is an introduction to the world of audio engineering and digital recording, designed to give teachers the necessary knowledge and tools to conduct a successful recording using software and aid students in capturing their performances and compositions.
Teachers are guided by three industry professionals; a highly respected presenter, a studio engineer and a session musician.
The course delivers necessary knowledge on basic: audio theory, acoustics, technology, studio set-up, recording session management, signal path management, correct microphone selection, use of DI’s and digital multi-tracking.
The course also delivers the necessary practical elements for organising musicians, session planning and mapping, set up of microphones, DI’s and Line In connections, live tracking (recording) of a session musician (on Electric guitar, bass, vocals and a full drum-kit), setting up a multi-track session in a DAW and basic mixing techniques.

This Is Mixing (Post Production/Mixing)

This Is Mixing is an introduction to the world of audio engineering and digital recording, designed to give teachers the necessary knowledge and tools to conduct successful mixing sessions and aid students in shaping and releasing their performances and compositions.
Teachers are guided by two industry professionals; a highly respected presenter/producer and a studio engineer.
The course delivers necessary knowledge on: mixing theory, monitoring, sound and harmonic theory, digital technology, mixing session management, gain structure, dynamic range, digital audio workstation management, industry mixing practices and file management.
The course also delivers the necessary practical elements: aurally identifying elements of frequency, amplitude, envelope and the harmonic spectrum; dynamics and volume; sound placement in the stereo field; use of equalisation and band pass filters; use of compressors; use of reverberation; use of delay; signal routing; file conversion to mp3 and WAV or AIFF.

Conducting and Music Direction for Ensembles (using Notion software)
This course is designed to update the skills of music teachers in ensemble music direction in order to understand the need for basic conducting technique/skills and non-verbal communication for greater effect in both rehearsals and performances
Teachers will be given Notion Conducting Curriculum (workbook/scores and software) and guided through presentations, practical conducting technique activities and interactive workshops utilising the software.
